The goal of this petition is to show support to legislators for a law to make it illegal to offer deadly drugs to kids.
15 teens die each week from an overdose which is now a national public health emergency.
According to SAMHSA, people who begin using before age 18 have a higher risk of addiction, and nearly all people with serious drug and alcohol problems start to use in their teens or early twenties. 5% of adolescents and 16% of young adults have a substance abuse disorder.
Stop this public health emergency where it starts.

Proposed language-
It is unlawful:
(a) To offer, or to offer or agree to secure, lethal Schedule 1 drugs for a minor person.
(b) To receive, or to offer or agree to receive, any minor person into any place, structure, building, or conveyance for the purpose of obtaining or using lethal Schedule 1 drugs.
(c) To direct, take, or transport, or to offer or agree to direct, take, or transport, any minor person to any place, structure, or building, or to any other person, with knowledge or reasonable cause to believe that the purpose of such directing, taking, or transporting is to obtain Schedule 1 lethal drugs.
(d) To solicit, induce, or entice, a minor person to use lethal drugs.
(e) To aid, abet, or participate in any of the acts or things enumerated in this subsection.
A person who violates any provision of this section, other than paragraph, commits:
1. A misdemeanor of the second degree for a first violation, punishable as provided in s.775.082 or s. 775.083.
2. A misdemeanor of the first degree for a second violation, punishable as provided in s.775.082 or s. 775.083.
3. A felony of the third degree for a third or subsequent violation, punishable as provided in s.775.082, s. 775.083, or s. 775.084.
