Dogfighting happens all over the world and is most prevalent in the South and Western part of the United States, though it also occurs in major cities such as Chicago. Children in certain Chicago neighborhoods have to witness dogfighting on a regular basis. Exposure to this level of violence on a regular basis can desensitize children to acts of violence and make them more susceptible to committing violent acts as adults. We would like the Chicago Police to spend more time patrolling and putting and end to this violence as a means to help end violence in these neighborhoods. We realize that this is not the entire solution for ending violence in Chicago, but it could be a step in the right direction. Please join us in asking the city and police to take a step to punish the offenders in more severe way to end this violent practice in Chicago neighborhoods.
