Stop Solar Plants in New Iberia, La.

New Iberia, La. Parish Council is currently seeking approval to move forward with converting 1000 acres of current property zoned for agricultural, to 1000 acres of solar panels. The property is surrounded by homes and businesses. The adoption of such an ordinance would have a direct negative effect on many citizens. Negative effects could be but not limited to:
- health effects
- toxicity to the ground from chemicals leaching
- decrease in property value
- loss of city tax revenues based on loss of agriculture losses
