This is a petition requesting that Seaside Heights again provide recycling services on a Saturday or Sunday at least during the season (Memorial Day to Labor Day). Although weekly recycling would be ideal for both the on and off season even services every other weekend would be acceptable during both the on and off season.
As I am sure that you are aware most of the residents of Seaside Heights are not here during the week. For almost all of us this is our summer home and we are here mostly on the weekends. Lugging our recyclables to the center is difficult for people that do not have a vehicle that allows for the transportation of recyclables to the center and in some cases these items are very heavy and this can also make disposal difficult. In previous years our recyclables were picked up on Sunday. This schedule was very convenient and it helped tremendously with keeping the community looking nice. The recycling centers hours are very limited and don't always correspond with schedules. By signing this petition you are asking as a resident of Seaside Heights for the town council to honor this request. The town council has the opportunity to figure out a plausible solution that would comply with the need to have a weekend recycling day that would be convenient for the community, which again consists mostly of seasonal residents.
