We, the undersigned consumers, call on Altice USA to immediately restore critical sports, news and other programming or, if they refuse to do so, to reduce subscriber's bills by the reportedly more than $10 per month that over 1 million Optimum customers were paying for that programming.
Optimum subscribers across the tri-state area have been left without access to MSG Networks' coverage of the beloved Knicks, Rangers, Islanders, Devils, and other important local and national programming (including WPIX (Channel 11) — all while continuing to pay the increased prices recently implemented by Altice USA and the fees for this programming that we are no longer receiving!
This blackout isn't just an inconvenience. It's a breach of trust and a blatant disregard for paying customers. Since we are being forced to continue to pay for this programming, we obviously should be able to watch all of the games and other programming that we're paying for. Altice's corporate greed should not come at the expense of my family and my community which relies on this programming for connection, local pride and entertainment.
We demand:
1. The immediate restoration of all programming that has been removed by Altice USA;
OR
2. An immediate, automatic and permanent reduction to Altice USA's monthly bills of the amounts it had been paying for this programming (reportedly at least $10 per month) for the over one million Optimum subscribers who were receiving this programming that we are no longer able to watch.
If Altice USA fails to meet these demands, we urge regulators, elected officials, and consumer protection agencies to step in and ensure that subscribers across the tri-state area are treated fairly.
