Lake Norman Humane in Mooresville NC has a litter of 4 kittens One of the kittens, Little Ned, was born with a version of Manx syndrome. He is tailless, hops like a bunny, and is partially incontinent. He's also playful, happy, obsessed with food and cuddles, and a lightning-fast runner.
There's very little research around this disease, and as a result most kittens like Ned are euthanized. There are often challenges as they grow, but with special owners, many also go on to live happy lives. The rescue and their veterinary team are not as confident in the quaility of his life. We all know what that means.
