Amazon - Stand Up For the LGBTQ Community in NC!

North Carolina just passed an awful bill banning cities from protecting LGBTQ folks. Because Amazon has a large fulfillment center there, we are urging them to publicly speak out against these lawmakers immediately!

Local governments can’t even instate nondiscrimination policies if they go beyond the statewide standard. This piece of legislation will leave many North Carolina residents vulnerable to hateful discrimination in the whole public sphere, including the workplace, educational opportunities, and more.

Amazon works hard to be an LGBTQ safe corporation and now is the time for them to use their influence to assert that value. They are a company that values equality and fairness in the workplace, they even have an inhouse body called GLAmazon meant to protect and provide a safe working space for LGBTQ folks. So we expect that they will promptly stand up against this piece of legislation.

Amazon’s website says “Our diverse perspectives come from many sources including gender, race, age, national origin, sexual orientation, disability, culture, education, as well as professional and life experience”. It’s time for Amazon to put that code of ethics into practice.

For a progressive organization like Amazon, this news should be shocking - especially as it involves the best interest of its North Carolina fulfillment center employees.

Sign this petition and urge Amazon to speak out for LGBTQ protection in North Carolina and begin plans to relocate their service center.
