At least 3 cats have been found mutilated, dismembered and their parts scattered since the Bay Point HOA in Panama City Beach, Florida started trapping residents' pets. More than 14 cats have gone mysteriously "missing" since the trapping started. The trapping has encouraged someone in the community to torture and mutilate family pets which has caused terror, stress, anxiety and horror among pet owners. We want all cat trapping within Bay Point Community to cease immediately, not only by BPCA Security but also residents!
The Bay Point Community Association (BPCA) has ignored the pleas of residents who are mourning their missing or dead family members and the community is outraged. The pets trapped by BPCA are being taken off property and turned over to animal control. When they are returned to their families, they are extremely stressed, sick and traumatized! There has been no proof provided to the residents of Bay Point of ANY feral cat colony (which was BPCA's excuse to trap) and the trapping has continued without consideration or community involvement. The trapping of cats needs to stop immediately and rules and regulations need to be put into place to prevent animal cruelty. The BPCA HOA and Bay Point Security currently have traps throughout the property and we are calling for immediate removal of these baited traps as well as a combined team effort with the Bay County sheriffs department to find and prosecute whomever is killing these beloved pets!
