Demand something is done now, over the amount of dogs and cats that are being stolen.

As we all live in a social media age, everyday there are posts about dogs and cats that are missing from their own gardens or yards, even farmyards, some have even been taken from inside peoples homes.
I think up to this point the numbers stand at over 2,500 in this past year alone.
Most of the animals have pedigrees and are worth hundreds of pounds
If these were household burglaries it would be a different matter I think.
Why has nothing been done.
