TU & FROM: Tulane University Facilitating Rides to Off-Campus Medicine

A small group of Tulane students have figured out the costs, the logistics, and why this is so important. Now they just need your support to show Tulane University why this matters and why we want this- why we need transportation to off-campus medical appointments.

Too long of a waitlist at CAPS? Insurance not covered at the Student Health Center? Do you need to get to a dermatologist, but don't have a car?

What if there was a way you could easily get to any doctor or medical appointment off-campus? What if a group of students had worked tirelessly to develop a system that would be able to transport you to and from your appointments without any additional out of pocket expenses? Well, now there is!

We propose that a one-year pilot program, funded through the Undergraduate Student Government, offer Tulane University students the opportunity to provide off-campus transportation for medical appointments and needs. This program would be embedded into the already existent service learning transportation system, and so, would utilize the employed drivers and shuttles already in place. Tulane USG would seek to fund the costs, for one year, of employee drivers, shuttle maintenance, and gas needs that would pertain directly to the program, and if the program is proven to be highly successful, the university would agree to take on the costs of continuing the program in the years following.

Sign this petition if you support Tulane USG funding a one-year pilot program that, using Shuttles and Transportation Services, can get you there and back to all your off-campus medical needs.

Isn't it about time we stop talking about what we need and start fighting for it?
