77 billion innocent, sentient animals who had families, feelings, personalities and lives that mattered to them are slaughtered each year - that's 77 billion innocent lives brutally murdered. If these were humans, it would be all over the news. If 77 billion humans were killed in one mass-killing spree in just one year, it would be the biggest event of our lives. Yet, because they are seen as "just animals", society deems this okay.
They are not "just animals". They are living, feeling, thinking, breathing beings.
Can you imagine the outcry if 77 billion dogs and cats were brutally murdered each year in, say, China or South Korea?
Yet, this massacre is still legal. Despite the fact that slaughter takes the lives of animals, often in bloody ways, and despite the fact that minors can have Facebook accounts, Facebook still allows posts that promote the slaughter of innocent animals. It is time for Facebook to take a stand against animal cruelty and ban these kinds of posts.
Thanks.
