Stop the use of animal rennet in foods.

Rennet is a complex of enzymes found in the stomach of baby mammals that allows them to process mother’s milk. Trader Joe's has already stopped animal rennet in their cheeses. They still continue to use it in their other products they sell. They obtain the rennet by slaughtering baby calves and freezing their stomachs to extract the enzyme. WHERE DOES RENNET COME FROM? There are different types of rennet:Animal rennet comes from the stomach of newborn calves, lambs, baby goats. The enzymes needed are only found in the fourth stomach of the ruminants before they are weaned. For cheese making, rennet from the animal providing the milk is used (calf rennet for cow’s milk cheese for example.)

stop Trader Joe's from using animal rennet in their products!!
