Demand the retention of the Northern Isles emergency tug

The seas around Shetland are busier and more dangerous than ever.

Emergency tug provision was introduced in the aftermath of the Braer disaster. The tugs are as vital today as they were then.

Arguments in favour of retaining tug provision won the day five years ago the service was under financial threat. But the unacceptable prospect of losing the Northern Isles emergency tug is back on the agenda.

You can help make sure that does not happen by backing The Shetland Times campaign. Time is running out before the government makes a decision on this vital service.
