Right now taking other people's pets and relocating them is legal. Please sign this petition to stop these people from kidnapping other people's pet cats.
It happened last Wednesday.
Amber Cavender said “On my lunch break I was looking for her, “I could hear her. She was screaming. But I couldn’t tell where the sound was coming from, until it was too late.
“She (the cat) was in the back of a truck, a tan truck with a black cab. I ran down and was screaming ‘stop!’ She was in a live trap. I know the rental property which they pulled out of, and the owners… so I immediately called them and left a message.”
“Several people in Athen's neighborhoods have reported their cats missing in the last few weeks, and a beautiful stray flame-point Siamese cat has also suddenly disappeared,” said Sarah Boumphrey, who lives on nearby Hudson Street.
She said that she and two companions went to the rental property owner’s home and asked about her cat. “I said, ‘Hey, there might have been an accident. My cat was trapped. She has a collar, with a heart tag. She has been at my apartment for four years, she’s indoor-outdoor, she’s a great cat.’”
On further questioning, Cavender said, the rental property owner told her that her husband had trapped the cat and had released it at the parking area near the intersection of U.S. 33 and Ohio Rt. 550. “She said that he does this with all the strays,” Cavender added.
Another Hudson Street resident, Danielle Young, said that “Sticky Paws,” one of her family’s cats, went missing three weeks ago.
Please make it illegal for Sue and Tim to kidnap cats before they can get their hands on any more cats!
