Stricter controls for the sale of pets on the internet.

The ease with which pets can be sold on the internet and in some cases given away free has become rather more alarming recently.

Pets (and I must point out specifically dogs) are being acquired by unscrupulous dealers for their own ends. Examples of this are Puppy farming and baiting for the fighting dog breeds. Puppy farmers are also using these sites to dispose of unwanted breeding stock.

If we truly consider ourselves to be a nation of animal lovers we must petition the Government to bring in stricter controls as soon as possible to either limit or bring to a halt the misery these animals are being subjected to. BVA Pesident Peter Jones is championing this action and this petition will go some way to giving him the ammunition he needs to present his case for stricter controls to the government.
