Shut down the Chinese Yulin dog festival

Every year tens of thousands of dogs are killed for their meat for the annual Yulin festival which takes place in summer. The dogs are taken from locals homes or found on the streets of the city of Yulin and surrounding areas.

They are forced into cages along with many other dogs and suffer terribly on their long journey to slaughter. The defenceless animals are not just killed, but are brutally beaten and often skinned and boiled alive. These methods are used as it is believed that when the animals are in pain, their body's release adrenaline which supposedly softens their meat
