The United Methodist Church of Malibu, California has offered a free meal to the homeless population every Wednesday for three years now.
But now, the city government is telling them to stop!Sign the petition to tell the Government of the city of Malibu to allow this church to feed the homeless.
Their logic in asking the church to stop feeding homeless people is that it promotes homelessness. This is insane thinking. Nobody chooses to become homeless because they want one free meal per week. Homelessness comes from many different causes and many different situations.
One thing that is NOT contributing to homelessness is a weekly free meal.
Sign now to allow this church to behave as Jesus Christ would and their faith dictates by giving back to the community.
"It's a safe place," Michah Johnson, a homeless resident of Malibu, told
CBS. "And everyone is welcome. And the food is really good. It's home-cooked. And there's TLC involved. They keep my spirits up. They keep me accountable. When you're homeless, it's very easy to slip off and become jaded."
