Animal hate crimes are a horrific type of senseless crime that has to stop.
Recently in the news we have read and heard about animals that have been intentionally burned; muzzles taped; man setting ex-girlfriend's puppy on fire after arguing; Fort Bragg soldier and his wife tossed an 8-month-old puppy in a Fayetteville lake to drown just to mention a few.
This is a type of inhumane treatment far exceeds what I believe the current laws recognize for appropriate punishment for these type convictions. Sentencing for these crimes must be equivalent to the atrocity of the crime.
In 2015 the FBI, will be involved with a federal law that will regard animal cruelty as a crime against society and a Group A offense, a category that includes crimes of a serious nature, including arson, burglary, kidnapping and homicide.
When this change goes into effect in 2015, federal law will regard animal cruelty as a crime against society and a Group A offense, a category that includes crimes of a serious nature, including arson, burglary, kidnapping and homicide.
We need to add a state animal "Hate Crime" law to recognize the same thing that federal law does and impose on a "state" level, stronger penalties to those who will do unspeakable crimes to our beloved pets or animals who can't defend themselves.
Stop animal hate crimes!!
Recently the news has has far too many animal cruelty incidents in which animls have been burned; mouths taped; attempted drowning just to mention a few.
Let your voice be heard to our legislators to stop these unspeakable crimes by making these kinds of crimes "animal hate crimes".
In 2015 the FBI animal cruelty crimes will soon be included within the Uniform Crime Report (UCR) - National Incident Based Reporting System.
When this change goes into effect in 2015, federal law will regard animal cruelty as a crime against society and a Group A offense, a category that includes crimes of a serious nature, including arson, burglary, kidnapping and homicide.
Our state needs to be a tough as the federal government by creating animal hate crime legislation and imposing severe sentencing penalties to those convicted of those crimes.
If you agree, please sign this petition to let the legislators know how we feel about justice for our pets.
