Open Dubuque Playgrounds

This petition asks Dubuque Leisure Services to open playgrounds immediately. Playgrounds are publicly funded and should be available to those who wish to use them. Playgrounds are currently closed in Dubuque and Leisure Services has cited lack of employees to sanitize playground equipment as the reason. Dubuque residents should be permitted to decide for themselves whether it is an acceptable risk to allow their children to play on the playgrounds.
We are asking Dubuque Leisure Services to open playgrounds and, if needed, to simply post "play at your own risk" signs, including the recommendation to socially distance from other groups and practice good hygiene and hand washing or sanitizing.
