Orchard Grove is a Manufactured home community located on the"new" west end of Ann Arbor, Michigan. Since the beginning of winter 2009 curbside GARBAGE REMOVAL has been taken away from it's tenants, forcing tenants to haul the waste to a dumping area behind the the communities office. As a result of the curbside garbage pick-up being removed, tenants have also lost their rights to RECYCLE (which is causing additional waste and a hurt on the fight to be green, not only to Ann Arbor but to the EARTH!). Some tenants haul their garbage in their vehicles, rolling their garbage cans and walking bags upon bags to this area. Some handicapped residents have also used walkers or helping neighbors to place their garbage in these dumping grounds and no recycling!. As some tenants were told this was a way for the community to save money. Ask yourself, Where is the money going? Has your lot rent been lowered? Is there a safe play area for your child? Over the last year we have been putting up with lack of water pressure. The condition of the water is close to unlivable. Lack of water pressure makes it hard to take showers, wash clothes and do daily household cleaning duties. The water was claimed to be clean and it had continued to be orange or a rust like color , damaging some tenants water filters and systems. There have been several managers and maintenance workers in the office who can not provide answers. Low paid maintenance workers have told us they do have a problem. However, the office will not admit it. There is not a stable manager for the site and temp managers can not provide proper information either. If you are a tenant and are tired of paying up to $490.00 a month for lot rent, please take a moment to support this cause. There are ample empty lots, due to move outs from conditions & abandoned homes because people can not pay for services they are not receiving. it is cheaper to leave and take the hit than to live as if you are camping in a tent! This is the USA! It is time to change! Safe and fair living environment for all! As a tenant you do your part by paying and respecting your property. It is time for Orchard Grove to CHANGE. If you are not a tenant and feel you oppose to the the waste practices of orchard grove in your community-city-township feel free to sign!
Yes we can continue to recycle. however, it is at the cost of driving and burning gas to find a local center to do so. Everyone in the city should have the same rights!
