I was reading this and got down to where they were talking about The Bill of Rights. Well the have condensed and rewrote the first 10, without any explanation. By doing so, they have changed the meaning and understanding of them. They are not like our Founding Fathers intended for them to be. With this being our Nations official website, you'd think they would document it right.
How can we teach our youth right, if the source you send them to that should be correct is not? This has disturbed me deeply to where I have to start a movement and petition that is called I Want My Bill of Rights, right at http://www.whitehouse.gov/ So I hope if you see me out you will sign my petition, and maybe let me video you for my short film to be sent with the petition to Congressman Pence. Then I'll also post it on my video blog and youtube site.
This is not the way our Founding Fathers wrote it, and it's also nobodies business to change it without an act from Congress. If we let them make the little changes without acting, then that leads to bigger change that we can't stop. Is this is what was meant when all the talk was about CHANGE? The First Amendment provides that Congress make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting its free exercise. It protects freedom of speech, the press, assembly, and the right to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
The Second Amendment gives citizens the right to bear arms.
The Third Amendment prohibits the government from quartering troops in private homes, a major grievance during the American Revolution.
The Fourth Amendment protects citizens from unreasonable search and seizure. The government may not conduct any searches without a warrant, and such warrants must be issued by a judge and based on probable cause.
The Fifth Amendment provides that citizens not be subject to criminal prosecution and punishment without due process. Citizens may not be tried on the same set of facts twice, and are protected from self-incrimination (the right to remain silent). The amendment also establishes the power of eminent domain, ensuring that private property is not seized for public use without just compensation.
The Sixth Amendment assures the right to a speedy trial by a jury of one's peers, to be informed of the crimes with which they are charged, and to confront the witnesses brought by the government. The amendment also provides the accused the right to compel testimony from witnesses, and to legal representation.
The Seventh Amendment provides that civil cases also be tried by jury.
The Eighth Amendment prohibits excessive bail, excessive fines, and cruel and unusual punishments.
The Ninth Amendment states that the list of rights enumerated in the Constitution is not exhaustive, and that the people retain all rights not enumerated.
The Tenth Amendment assigns all powers not delegated to the United States, or prohibited to the states, to either the states or to the people.
The correct version:

Amendment VIIIExcessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted.

Hello Congressman Mike Pence & Fellow Members
During some research for Boy Scouts earning their Citizenship in the Nation Merit Badge, I discovered something alarming. On the main Whitehouse website page, under the tab our Government, The Constitution, when they get to the Bill of Rights, It is written WRONG!
I find this very disturbing, and misleading. Especially since it is on the countries main website, and we had given it as a reference source. It is one of the most important documents in our countries history. I don%u2019t know who thought they had the right to change and reword it. If that is a dumbed down version for our slower society, then it should be written correctly, as James Madison had introduced it to Congress in 1789, with the other version somewhere else. But even at that, this version is very wrong in its interpretation.
We as a country have and are slowly losing our rights and freedoms, by legislation that has been passed and made law. I feel that it is my Right and Duty to stand up to this misinterpretation. To where there will be no question or misunderstanding, when it comes to Our Rights and Freedoms. So we, Americans, Citizens and Constitutes, have came together to form this Petition: I want My Bill of Rights wrote Right at http://www.whitehouse.gov/
So that you may present it to your fellow Congressmen, and have this gross and neglect misinterpretation of Our Bill of Rights corrected. I commend you for the job you are doing for us, and hope that you will stand with us.
