Dear Gov. Landry,
I deeply value the wildlife habitat and culture our coast supports, as well as the massive benefits it provides to our economy and hurricane protection. I am proud of the success of Louisiana's Coastal Program, and I am happy to see that coastal restoration efforts are a priority for our state and a model for the nation through the Coastal Master Plan. This plan has been and continues to be critical to our coast's future.
I also strongly support:
- Robust, inclusive public engagement in coastal planning processes.
- Vital funding for our coast.
- Implementation of impactful, sustainable, and science-based projects as quickly as possible to meet the urgency of our land loss crisis.
- The state coastal agency as a standalone entity that prioritizes our coast.
