Do you think when Mclovin was a puppy that he had imagined his life would turn into a tragedy.?
Unfortunately, Our attorney over at THE LEXUS PROJECT put a call in to the prosecutor and several lawyer lists no one has called back. THE NORFOLK, VIRGINIA ACC WILL NOT ANSWER US. Very frustrating waiting when time is of the essence. We refuse to allow Mclovin to remain VOICELESS--This is our responsibility to our dog. We all need you to help Mclovin HAVE HIS VOICE. HE WILL BE HEARD and we need this to happen now.
At this moment we do not know if he is alive or dead
We do not know if he will spend his life behind bars
We do not know if they will give him back to us.
What we do know is that this tragedy will not be in vain. Who does it benefit to put the blame on him??
He does not understand the law or how the system works--he is confused.
We need all of our faithful supporters to come together like you all have for some many other of our dogs and help us fight for his life. He needs to know we are all here for him and he is not invisible. He has already spent most of his life feeling like he didn’t matter. We need to give him a happy ending.
THE STORY:
Mclovin is a 5 year old Pitbull mix that was rescued by Second Chance Rescue.
After his Training he was adopted out 5/11/16. His adopter had owned a prior Akita and had good experience with high prey drive dogs. He was on his first walk with his new adopter and one of the neighbors cats was sitting on a car. The adopter didn't see the cat. Mclovin lunged at the cat and got ahold of him and killed the cat.
The Animal control officer came and stated if adopter didn't surrender to them she would be charged with possession of a dangerous dog. We have contacted the ACO and they have stated he would likely be euthanized within 24- 48 hours. They will not allow us to take him back and bring to NY State because he is deemed a dangerous dog.
