This is memory of my father MC, who was bold to fight cancer till the very last day. 150,000 people are diagnosed with cancer every year in Turkey. World Health Organization (WHO) statistics show that 12.5 percent of all deaths in the world are caused by cancer.
This petition is on behalf of all the patients who battled or battling valiantly against cancer. Death is inevitable in most of the cancer illness. However a person has right to treatment and right to live though he has cancer. Even a cancer patient deserves attention and medical facility from the government.
So this petition is for up-gradation of facilities at IZMIR HOSPITALS by increasing the BED CAPACITY, INCREASE STAFF & ADMIT CANCER PATIENTS in EMERGENCY

Respected Sir:
We the undersigned wish to get to your notice the PROBLEMS faced by CANCER PATIENT in the ONCOLOGY DEPARTMENT at EGE University.
01. SHORTAGE OF BEDS: There is severe shortage of beds in the HOSPITALS. The waiting time is anywhere from 2-4 weeks to get a bed in the cancer department, that too if a person is lucky. After having Surgery and still in severe conditions patients are asked to leave hospital bed, so they can accommodate other patients. Some are waiting for months to continue the treatment from where they left.
02. UNDER STAFFED: The hospital are very under staffed. There are huge lines at every stage, for example: Taking appointment with doctor, registrations, chemotherapy, payment of money, blood and many others. Why is it not automated and made more efficient?
03. EMERGENCY SERVICE: Cancer patients are NOT admitted at Emergency in the critical conditions as they feel there is no treatment required.They are sent back from Emergency!!!!! IS THIS RIGHT?
We make this earnest request for all the above offices to look into the horrific situation of the CANCER/ Oncology Department and take immediate steps to remedy the situation. We really request you to increase the bed capacity of the hospitals and the staff.
We request you to spend 24 hours at the hospital and experience yourself.
