Demanding Tougher Penalties For Animal Abusers In Malaysia
- por: Ross Ariffin

We the undersigned ask you The Prime Minister of Malaysia to enact a new law in parliment in order to stem the increasing animal abuse in Malaysia. The current laws are just not adequate enough and therefore we are experiencing more animal abuses being committed everyday. Most of them never investigated properly by the relevant animal welfare departments under your care.
We the undersigned ask you the Prime Minister of Malaysia to enact tougher Laws against animal abusers and abuses all of kinds. For you and your cabinet to enhance the enforcement capabilties of Jabatan Haiwan and the Local Municipalities as they are not functioning in the way we would expect them. There are far too many "pencil-pushers" in these departments and hardly any follow-ups in investigations of rampant animal abusers and abuses throughout Malaysia. We ask you to rid these departments of those inept, lazy, rude and unprofessional staff and recruit more able, more professional and most of all, true animal lovers who can appreciate such cases and move with a speed of a cheetah to investigate and hopefully prevent further abuses and eventually eradicate state by state, district by district, town by town, kampung by kampung, city by city.. this pressing problem. The urgency is not satisfactorily met when you are faced with government servants taking too many coffee breaks, going home before 4pm, chit-chatting in corridoors and treating complaints as if it were a bunch of lies. This has to stop! Animal abusers are getting away with murder and this creates a bad image for Malaysia!. How can we celebrate our 49th Birthday as one the most cruelest animal abusers in the world?. We are ashamed to be called a Malaysian! Your government can no longer take this lightly.
It is time to stem the abuse and enact new law(s) to provide an atmosphere of more law abiding, animal caring and responsible animal owners throughout West and East Malaysia.
