If you care about Colorado's rivers, and the local economies and wildlife they support, NOW is the time to stand up and protect them.
From the top down, policies and opinions in the United States may be changing rapidly. But one thing everyone can come together on? Protecting our rivers and water.
Out West, water is a way of life: it supports robust local economies and our own lives. But it's not an indefinite resource, we must put policies in place to protect our rivers in drought years and that's where your voice comes in.
Colorado's water plan was finalized at the end of 2015. 2016 was just the beginning of an implementation process and we have been there every step of the way to make sure it stays true to what over 30,000 people asked for as the plan was being drafted. But we aren't done yet; there are still miles to go and more rapids to paddle to ensure the plan gets fully implemented to protect our rivers.
That's why WE NEED YOU NOW to join the movement to make sure that Colorado's Water Plan is put into practice in 2017 and beyond, with water conservation and our rivers as top priorities – protecting the West for generations to come!
By the end of the year, it is critical we ensure this movement to protect Colorado's rivers has staying power through 2017 and beyond – are you in?
As a Coloradan, I know firsthand how intertwined the health of our rivers is with our unique western way of life. As Colorado's first-ever water plan is discussed and implemented, I am adding my name to the list of my neighbors who want water conservation and healthy rivers to be prioritized.
Without healthy rivers, our local economies, wildlife, and farmers, and way of life will suffer. We can’t let that happen. We want the water plan implemented with a priority on strong conservation goals and accelerated processes to protect our healthy rivers.
