Conneaut Lake Park was founded in 1892 as Exposition Park near Conneaut Lake, Pennsylvania.
Now this historic amusement park faces closure -- we need your help to save it!
Since its inception, the park has been one of Western Pennsylvania's oldest and most popular amusement parks and is of true historical significance. Among its renowned features are the Blue Streak Roller Coaster, which is listed as in existence since 1938 and one of the top wooden coasters in America (listed as the only Vettel shallow track design still standing).
The park's Muller type 1910 era Carousel is also one the most classic of its kind remaining. The park's current rides represent a historical timeline which spans from early the 1900's through the post-World War II era. Many originated in the 1950's & 1960's as well. In the past, this park has been a fun spot for families as well as a historical attraction.
The park is situated adjacent to Conneaut Lake which is known to be the largest natural glacier lake in Pennsylvania. The park has a boardwalk with a beach adjacent to the lake. Throughout the years, the park has endured disastrous hardships with fire and financial plagues, yet has survived, persevered and primarily kept its doors open for the enjoyment and pleasure of hundreds of thousands youngsters and families.
Today, the park is facing the threat of being sold for delinquent taxes in the very near future. There has, however, emerged a tremendous effort by a leading Crawford County Economic Development Group to develop a lifesaving plan to transform and revitalize this historical landmark.
The recovery plan is available for review/approval by any/all pertinent taxing entities.
The submitted plan may, however, be jeopardized by a lack of interest or initiative for ALL entities to sit-at-the-same table at the same time and "figure this out."
Friends across America, we ask that YOU please come to the aid of Conneaut Lake Park and endorse this petition to help assure a fair timeline for review & acceptance without immediate interruption of the park's operational status.
SAVE CONNEAUT LAKE PARK! "There's GOT To Be A Better Way"!
Thank you everybody.
