With over 60,000 homeless people in Los Angeles and woefully inadequate resources to help this population, charitable people like Elvis Summers have created tiny houses for people to live in.
The LA City Council has deemed these small houses "hazards" and created laws that allow them to confiscate and destroy the homes. They've already begun rounding up some of these houses, putting the former occupants back on the streets.
Though we agree with the council that these houses aren't adequate permanent living spaces, they are sadly some of the best resources being offered to people at the present time. Until the city is prepared to provide people with better resources, LA residents should be allowed to live in tiny houses so that they're sleeping off the ground and protected from the elements.
Have a heart for the less fortunate and stop seizing and ruining these tiny houses!
