The RSPB is planning to carry out a cull of wild goats on Loch Lomond side. As someone who has walked for many years in the area around Inversnaid where this cull is to take place, the claim that these beautiful wild animals represent a threat to the local flora or fauna is ridiculous, they are a small population in a huge area, and are a source of great interest and enjoyment for thousands of walkers on the West Highland Way. These animals are an ancient, unique, local breed and should be protected, not slaughtered. How does a wildlife charity get involved in an activity like this?
