PLEASE STOP SERVING FOIE GRAS!
We, the undersigned, are very concerned with the practices of Chef, and restaurant owner, Peter Schitler. We are asking him to remove foie gras from his menu, and to stop promoting torture and animal cruelty.
Dear Chef Peter Schintler,We the undersigned are asking for the removal of foie gras from your menu. We are appalled that you would support the torture of animals, and the disgusting methods in which foie gras is manufactured. The production of foie gras is illegal in over 13 countries, and our current Pope has even spoken out against these practices.In a recent article with The Insider (Edition IV), you were asked what you would like to "86 from the world", and you stated "Environmentally and agriculturally irresponsible people" and mention "...think of our children's futures". Is the production of foie gras your idea of agriculturally responsible? Are you aware of the over 900 violations of the Clean Water Act that Hudson Valley Foie Gras has racked up in the last five years alone? Are you aware of the $30,000 in fines Hudson Valley Foie Gras is facing due to their environmentally repulsive behavior? Is that what you are supporting for your children's future? We are asking your public image and your real actions to come together as one and to BAN FOIE GRAS!The Puerto Rican people are a good people who, if knowing of your actions, would not want the reputation of torturers. Since your The Insider article omitted that you serve foie gras, I am assuming you already know this. We are asking you to please reconsider your menu, REMOVE FOIE GRAS, and possibly add something that really IS environmentally and agriculturally responsible.Thank you.
