JUSTICE FOR SOCKY

Demand for the Malaysian Government and police to treat animal cruelty cases seriously and impose higher punishment on the perpetrators.

On Monday 24/11/2014, I  found Socky lying in the middle of the field with her hands and neck tied up and her intestines outside of her helpless body.

I can't imagine someone could do such a thing to a poor defenceless animal.

Socky is one of the cats which I fed behind my house. She's so afraid of humans that she would run and hide if she saw someone coming towards her. So I really can't imagine how these people got hold of her and did this super horrible thing to her. Imagine how much pain and suffering she had to endure before she died.

And what's more horrifying, I called a bunch of authorities to ask if I could lodge a report. But they all said, they can't do anything even if I had a witness.

I was so frustrated and heartbroken. Me and my dad buried Socky in the field and I put up this story on my FB. A lot of people advised me to logde a report. So I did lodge a report on 25/11/2014. But now the authority says that they can't do much since I have no witness and I have buried the carcass.

If they had advised me to keep Socky's body for post-mortem, I would have done so. But instead, all the officers I spoke to just told me that they can't do anything.

I demand the police take this case seriously. Investigate and catch the culprit. This is NOT the first case of animal abuse in my neighbourhood.

It's been more than a week now. Sadly, the authorities haven't followed up on the case. I've tried asking around the neighbourhood, most of them said that it was probably the children / teenagers playing at the field.

A lot of people have been asking me if the police could use the newspaper to get the fingerprints of the culprits. Trust me, I HAVE shown the newspaper to the police. But he didn't say anything or even take it. The police wouldn't even want to scan or keep the pictures as proof.
