Challenging my right to say 'no' is not acceptable it is a direct attack on my values and the democratic principles of my country. Denying the facts and challenging the right of other countries to ban seal products may further tarnish Canada's international reputation.
Rather than wasting money and resources on an unethical, dying industry, sealers should be provided with alternatives that do not involve cruelty, and Canada's wild seals should be protected and celebrated as part of what makes Canada so beautiful.
But we need to act now to save the tens of thousands of baby seals that are still killed every year with taxpayer-funded government subsidies.
