Set a science-based emissions target now

The growth of global greenhouse emissions must be halted by 2015 and start declining rapidly thereafter.  Industrialized countries must adhere to an emissions reduction obligation of at least 40% below 1990 levels before the year 2020.  Concurrently, a funding mechanism must be developed to end gross deforestation and associated emissions in all developing countries.

We, the undersigned, demand that prior to attending the UN Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen this December, you set a national emissions target that is science-based and legally binding.
