Do NOT "grow the army"

We, the undersigned demand that the Fort Carson NEPA process (environmental study) called Grow the Army be suspended until many new facts about the economy and the foreign policy of the United States can be fully assessed. 
We implore our legislators and the president to reconsider the whole Grow the Forces program because the nation cannot afford the $70 billion increase in defense spending that it will entail and because the forces will not be needed as troops are returned from Iraq. Further there is no way to divorce this proposed expansion from the Army's push for huge tracts of land to be added to the Pinon Canyon Maneuver Site against the wishes of ranchers and other residents of Southeast Colorado. 
The people have already spoken on this and need to be heard.
