And it's not just oil drillers. Industrial fishing fleets are moving into the melting waters, threatening the local communities who have fished there sustainably for thousands of years.

The best way to protect the Arctic is to make its resources off-limits. You can help by calling on world leaders to declare a global sanctuary in the unclaimed area around the North Pole, as well as a ban on oil drilling in the Arctic.
