The future of Victoria Road School will be determined by the City Council's Property Sub Committee on Tuesday 22nd April. Last June, Torry Community Council lobbied to get the proposed demolition halted and then got funding to prepare a business case to show how it could be saved with new uses to keep it going.
This case goes forward for decision by our Councillors and shows clearly that new housing and jobs can be created within the structure of the buildings whilst retaining the iconic granite heritage of the Victorian period. The buildings are very sound and the front part of the school survived a WW2 bomb 70 years ago.
The case for retention is common sense and is a high priority for Torry. If you agree with saving Victoria Road School now, please like ans share this message to support the Community Council who want to save our granite heritage. Please share this around your family and contacts, wherever they are, to show support.
Victoria Road School is as iconic in Torry as Marischal College is in Aberdeen, Don't destroy what can never be replaced!!!
