How would you feel if a big gas company fracked your backyard? Pumped 100s of secret chemicals into the water table underneath your home, destabilized the land, and profited from it, all without your consent? Do you want to light your water on fire?
That is exactly the reality North Carolinians are facing, because a state study group just supported their Corporate lackeys by recommending that homeowners be subject to compulsory fracking.
“A panel charged by the state’s legislature with developing hydraulic fracturing guidelines recommended Wednesday that property owners be forced to allow drilling beneath their property if enough of their neighbors want it.”
Sign this petition to support the rights of North Carolinians to not have their land fracked without their approval! The bill goes before the legislature later this year, and they are expected to pass it, but public pressure CAN change their mind!
This is important no matter where you are - if they succeed in passing this law here, then its only a matter of time before it comes to your state or province.
