Dear Prime Minister Harper,

I am outraged at Canada's bloody commercial slaughter of innocent seals. Each year, hundreds of thousands of these precious creatures fall prey to the hands of selfish hunters%u2014fisherman who use rifles and clubs to beat and kill seals. Baby seals are often the first to be targeted.

It's bad enough that seals are facing new challenges with global warming depleting their environment and food resources. The seal population is suffering greatly as a result of climate change, yet Canadian seal hunters pay no mind and forge ahead with their inhumane and savage attacks.

What's worse is that seals are being killed mainly so that their pelts can be sold to fashion houses. The fishermen who perform these hunts make an average of one-twentieth of their incomes from seal hunting%u2014this is not their livelihood, and they have no regard for the future of the seals or what their actions could mean for the future of our planet.

We have a responsibility to take care of our environment and the creatures that inhabit it. The Canadian seal slaughter demonstrates some of the most environmentally unsustainable and blatantly inhumane actions imaginable. We cannot allow this savage practice to continue. Please take the necessary steps to ensure this barbaric hunt comes to a halt, permanently.

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,


i am shocked that the Namibian government is promoting the brutal, senseless slaughter of Cape fur seal pups and bulls. The pups are so young they are still nursing! I have seen the sickening images of this horrifying massacre on YouTube and have forwarded this information to everyone I know. These seals are dying due to starvation - a result of Namibia's reckless over-fishing. To massacre these seals, on top of causing their starvation is abominable. This population is now in jeopardy. South Africa stopped killing seals years ago. Why does Namibia remain in the Dark Ages? You have an obligation to protect the Cape fur seal species. I urge you to stop this slaughter at once. I will not travel to Namibia, nor will I purchase Namibian products until the Cape fur seal killing is banned forever.

I am disgusted to learn about your involvement in the massacre of helpless Cape fur seals in Namibia. The fur industry is a sick, bloody industry that should disappear forever. It does not belong in a modern, civilized society. The butchering of defenseless Cape fur seals, including tens of thousands of nursing pups, is a heinous atrocity.

There is no excuse for this. I hope that you will cease operations of this kind - with or without a buyout.
