Amend the U.S. Constitution to Undo the Damage of Citizens United v. FEC
This past summer, Senators Tom Udall and Jon Tester introduced amendment resolutions in the United State Senate that would overturn the Supreme Court's ruling in Citizens United v. FEC (2010).
The Citizens United decision allowed special interest groups to donate unlimited amounts of money to political candidates, effectively taking our democracy out of the hands of citizens and putting it into the hands of corporations.
We need to stand up and protect the fabric of our democracy from being torn apart at the hands of the wealthy and powerful few. This isn't what our Founding Fathers intended. This isn't our America.
Tell your elected representatives to support a constitutional amendment to overturn the Citizens United decision and take back our democracy from special interests.
The Supreme Court's decision in
Citizens United v. FEC threatens to tear apart the fabric of our democracy and grant powerful corporations unfettered influence in our political process. It's a drastic departure from previous law and our core values as a nation and it must be met with an appropriate response.
Please support and pass a constitutional amendment granting the government the authority to limit corporate influence in elections without delay.
