Stop The BLM's Barbaric Sterilization Experiments On Wild Mares

Right now, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is planning to go forward with a series of horrific surgical sterilization experiments on wild mares at its Wild Horse Corral Facility in Hines, Oregon.

Roughly 100 wild mares, including 75 pregnant mares, will be subjected to these experimental procedures – the majority of which have never been performed on horses before.

One of the experiments, an "ovariectomy via colpotomy," is a dangerous procedure in which the veterinarian rips out the horse's ovaries using a rod-like device. The mare faces the risk of infection, hemorrhage, and even evisceration. Pregnant mares could abort their foals.

Time is running out for the wild mares at the Hines facility. The BLM must hear from us before it is too late.
