EU: APPROVE AN INTERNATIONAL LAW FOR THE PROTECTION OF COMPANION ANIMALS AND THE ETHICAL MANAGEMENT OF STRAY DOGS AND CATS ACROSS ALL MEMBER STATES

UPDATE MAY THE 14TH: WE WILL DELIVER TONIGHT, WITH THE SUPPORT OF 21 ORGANIZATIONS AND OF A 80 PAGES REPORT on this complex issue and in particular on the approval and implementation of a comprehensive law to protect companion, domestic animals and strays across all European Member States.

  • Legislative concepts as the "Five Freedoms" and "Animal Sentience" and therefore to not be considered as "goods" and "properties"

  • Fining and punishing transgressors
  • Rules for professional training of animals
  • Operations, only by Vets and not to modify the aspect of animals, only to cure or sterilize
  • Parameters for the use in Ads, shows, commercials, movies
  • Facilitation for the travelling of pets, access to public structures, services and facilities
  • Facilitation for dogs accompanying homeless people, traumatized, lonely, handicapped or terminally ill persons
  • Vaccinating but preventing over-vaccinating pets
  • Ban on traditions which abuse animals
  • Ban on the use of pets in circuses and zoos
  • Fireworks and animals
  • Ban medical research on strays
  • Ban Military Testing on domestic animals
  • Ban the use, abuse, killing of animals in Art
  • We brought three cases: Italy, Spain and Romania
  • Ban the artistic tattooing and dyeing of pets
