A passage to freedom for White Lioness Nyanga

With great urgency, we call on the Johannesburg City Council to release the White Lioness, Nyanga, from a lifetime of captivity into the custodianship of the Global White Lion Protection Trust, where she will be given sanctuary in her ancestral homeland of the greater Timbavati region.

Having lived her life behind bars serving the zoo and the general public ,we call upon you to ensure that the life of this magnificent creature is spared, and she is granted the dignity and sanctuary that is befitting of a wild animal who has spent her life in confines for human benefit , and is now in danger of being euthanized for human error after the sad fatality of staff member Mr Joe Ramonetha on 13th February 2012 .
