Every week, 6 cats are killed here in the uk in a very similar fashion. This is the work of one man, the Croydon Cat Killer. Unfortunately, animals are still 'property' under uk law. Meaning that the only ways this beast can be prosecuted is for 'criminal damage' or 'causing unnecessary suffering'. Both of which carry a maximum penalty of imprisonment for 6 months, meaning that in even the most heinous cases, cat killers serve only 3 months.

An indeterminate sentence is required in the Croydon Cat Killer's case because he will not be released until the parole board believes that he will NOT repeat the offences.
I am aware I now have 333 signatures! Each one of you have made a difference! There was a case on 6th December, when a man killed deer and foxes, as well as abusing his dogs and training them to kill animals; he was jailed for just 20 weeks. A similar sentence will be given to the Croydon Cat Killer if caught. Care2 petitions make a difference, but they are not debated in parliament.
