ENFORCE STRICTER PUNISHMENT AND LAWS FOR ANIMAL ABUSE

Dear President Obama, U.S. Senate and the House of Representatives,

              Time after time ANIMALS ARE BEING TORTURED, ABUSED and EXPLOITED because of man's greed or some evil actions of very disturbed individuals and these actions have no punishment to justify the means. To torture animals is a crime and its actions do not fit into our society. People have had enough with all the sickening things that are being done to animals. "THE GREATNESS OF A NATION CAN BE JUDGED BY THE WAY ITS ANIMALS ARE TREATED" quoted by Mahatma Gandhi. There are many petitions at various animal welfare sites to help animals and it is highly commendable that there are a vast majority who want to help animals through signing petitions and donating but the way to best control these horrific actions is through very strict punishment and counseling. Choices have consequences. Please hear our voice and have these ANIMAL ABUSERS PAY FOR THEIR CRIME OF torturing these innocent beautiful creatures of God by enforcing stricter punishment to the offenders . According to "THE HUMANE SOCIETY.ORG" their statistics came from PET ABUSE.COM which revealed that of the 1,880 cruelty cases reported to the media in the U.S. in 2007 the most abused animals are dogs by 65%, 18% involved cats and 25% involved other animals and has been on the rise. The HSUS estimates that nearly 1 million animals a year are being abused.
Simply, ANIMAL ABUSE is out of control and needs to be treated as a FELONY with the strictest punishment. Please take crimes against animals seriously for it's the key to a safer society. Statistics show that animal abusers also been found to be guilty of domestic violence. Animals have feelings too and when tortured they are AGONIZED. No one deserves this. Most people own dogs and would be traumatized if this were to happen to their dog or cat. These people who do this horrible crime MUST PAY. 18 months doesn't fit the crime.
President OBAMA, U.S. SENATE and the HOUSE of REPRESENTATIVES, PLEASE Stop the vicious cycle of ANIMAL ABUSE and enforce STRICTER LAWS against the ofenders NOW!  We are depending on you to act on this petition. In your doing so you will be saving animals lives and be remembered as a President, U.S. Senate and House of Representatives that cared. Thank You in advance.
