The Florence Outdoor skatepark is located at located at the corner of KY-18 and Ewing Boulevard in Florence KY. With a global pandemic going on right now, it seems that outdoor activities have been more popular then ever. With some citizens not being able to get off work until later in the evening, it causes for the sun to be going down and no activities being able to take place at the skatepark. I've noticed with the Florence Skatepark it seems to be more of a community of friends that are basically family to other. I have never seen the park not be cleaned up after every session as well, just because how big of a community that loves to spend time at the skatepark.
With this petition, I'm asking for the city of Florence KY to make use for the lights located at the skatepark and keep the skatepark lights on til 11 PM, with this being said, I know there would be a worry of criminal activity occurring, but luckily there's a police station right next door and I'm more then certain that if this opportunity was to be granted, that the community would come together to make sure no criminal activity occurs.
