The New Hampshire legislature is considering a bill that would make it impossible for undercover investigators to collect evidence of abuse and cruelty at animal farms. The bill creates fines for people who witness cruelty to livestock or poultry and don't report it within 24 hours. But undercover investigators must quietly collect evidence over a much longer period to create a strong case against an operation.
Don't let factory farms keep their cruelty to animals hidden. Urge New Hampshire's legislative leaders not to pass this ag-gag bill.

Please do not pass House Bill 110. It would impose a duty on people who record cruelty to livestock or poultry to report it within 24 hours. This seems noble, but it will actually harm animals.
In fact, it would make it impossible for concerned citizens to document abuse at animal farm facilities. They would be able to record only one or two instances and then have to reveal themselves to the company. Permitting them to collect evidence over a longer period will shine more sunlight into animal farm operations, deliver more information to the public, and ultimately protect more animals.
