To the Producers, Director, Music Supervisor and Cast of The Iron Claw
We, the undersigned want to thank you for bringing the heroic, dramatic, tragic, and undeniably Texan story of the legendary Von Erich family to the screen.
We await the release of the film with anticipation but also with a deep sense of trepidation.
Our fear stems from the possibility that your epic production could premiere without including the heretofore best realised artistic expression of the Von Eric saga.
We refer, of course, to the song "Shine On, Golden Warrior," written by Corn Mo and performed by .357 Lover.
The anthem, extolling the glories of the fabled family, captures the essence of a Saturday night at the Sportatorium, when, "the Von Erichs and Freebirds
would get into the ring."
Like a bard of old, Corn Mo extolls the virtues of these, "6 Conans" who became heroes to us all, as they took on the world with the Iron Claw.
Please do not underestimate the significance of this musical tribute. After the collapse of the Von Erich wrestling era, fans and friends ached for a sense of closure. Corn Mo's song served as a tribute as well as a requiem, celebrating the victories while easing the pain of a loss too painful to endure.
Thankfully, it is not too late. The Iron Claw has not been released. There is still time to include "Shine On, Golden Warrior" as the song played over the closing credits, or featured in the trailer, or performed live at the premiere. The possibilities are endless!
We implore you, do not miss this opportunity to close the circle and make things right. As Kevin Von Erich himself said in a letter to Corn Mo, "If you don't get a Grammy for "SHINE ON" then it's rigged."
