We Need an Empanadas Fest in Homewood!

Look, everyone loves empanadas - the tasty pastry stuffed with variety, like bacon, cheese, spinach, chicken, steak, mushrooms, onions, more cheese, tuna, ham, pepperoni, etc., or any combination thereof! But almost as important as the glory of empanadas is the community spirit and fun that a food fest provides. HOMEWOOD NEEDS A SPECIALTY FOOD FEST!
Maybe Homewood needs 3 new food fests, but empanadas are unique, curious, fun, easy to eat, and really really damned tasty - a great starting point. Tamales and tacos should also be available.
The Empanadas Fest will include an empanadas competition with a panel of judges and multiple categories. Live music and other outdoor activities and events should be available. The fest should be held in the Homewood downtown area, preferably in late spring or early fall.
