It is estimated that over 1 billion native animals have been killed by recent bushfires in Australia, and these estimates are believed to be low. Yet permits in permits in New South Wales and Victoria allow for private homeowners to kill native animals they identify as 'nuisances.' These include kookaburras, wombats, little red flying foxes, kangaroos to name a few. Please email the Victorian and NSW Premiers Daniel Andrews daniel.andrews@parliament.vic.gov.au and Gladys Berejiklian willoughby@parliament.nsw.gov.au to ask them to revoke permits issued and not write further NSW permits allowing these killings.

Dear Mr. Andrews and Ms. Beregiklian,
In the wake of over a billion animals being killed by wildfires across your country, it seems incomprehensible that NSW permits are being written rather than revoked. Please revoke current NSW permits and stop further permits to protect your native animals who are already devastated by habitat loss and consumed by bushfires.
These animals need protection not assault in the face of the environmental changes that are threatening them.
Please revoke these permits and also work to protect the remaining habitats available to wildlife by limiting or stopping further forest destruction.
