On February 11th, Senator Dick Durbin issued a sharply worded letter to the Department of Justice's internal watchdog organization, warning them that there is evidence that Trump's FBI director nominee Kash Patel perjured himself during his nomination hearing when asked about his role in the shocking purges of FBI agents involved in the January 6th prosecution.
Durbin wrote that he had "received highly credible information from multiple sources," describing Patel's involvement in the mass firings. "This alleged misconduct is beyond the pale and must be investigated immediately…It is unacceptable for a nominee with no current role in government, much less at the FBI, to personally direct unjustified and potentially illegal adverse employment actions against senior career FBI leadership and other dedicated, nonpartisan law enforcement officers."

The rampant disregard for the law by members of the Trump administration and his allies has gotten completely out of hand, and it's time to make a statement that this will no longer be tolerated by charging and prosecuting Kash Patel for perjury.
The Senate must enforce the law, especially against a man seeking to become one of the nation's top law enforcement agents.
